Photo exhibition relives highlights of Shandong cultural consumption season
A photo exhibition featuring the Second Shandong Cultural Consumption Season event was launched on Jan 7 in Jinan, capital city of Shandong province.
A total of 100 photographic works are on exhibition, displaying the splendid moments and vibrant activities captured during the Second Shandong Cultural Consumption Season.
Lasting from July to November, 2018, the Second Shandong Cultural Consumption Season, which included thousands of activities, was hosted by the Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism to boost the local cultural industry's development, foster cultural consumption amongst local residents and drive growth in the local economy.
Selected through a contest, the exhibits stood out from more than 1,400 entries, all created during the nearly-four-month-long arts and cultural extravaganza across Shandong’s 17 cities.
An award ceremony was also held to honor prize-winning shutterbugs and photojournalists.
Hu Shangshan, vice director of Shandong provincial department of culture and tourism, said that the photography contest was a major part of the Second Shandong Cultural Consumption Season.
He said that the competition offers a platform for shutterbugs and photojournalists to showcase photographs, which helps to record the memorable moments and splendid activities as well as expand the influence of the cultural consumption season.
