East China's Shandong province organized flash mob events across its 16 cities on Feb 16 and 17, gathering together thousands of residents from all walks of life to sing "I love you, China" in honor of the country's 70th anniversary.

Participants gathered at iconic landmarks in different cities, such as the Chaoran Pavilion in Jinan's Daming Lake scenic area, the Qingdao Wusi Square, the Weifang Kite Square and the Weihai Xinfumen Park to surprise the public and sang the praises of the motherland, which also added festive atmosphere to the Spring Festival holiday.

"The event is very meaningful as people from all walks of life gather together to express their patriotism. I am very happy and touched to be part of it," said a traffic policeman in Weihai city.

"This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. I am very proud of my country," said Zhao Xiaoning, an elementary school student from Dezhou city.
