Folk artists make clay figurines in Binzhou
Henanzhang village in Binzhou's Huimin county is well-known for its clay figurines, which has a history of more than 200 years.
Local villagers make the clay dolls in their spare time and sell them at temple fairs.
The local handicraft symbolizes happiness and good luck, and it is also a favored clay toy for children on traditional festivals.
It takes three months to complete the 24 manual processes step by step, to make the clay sculpture, also known as a tumbler.
The folk art was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage item in 2006.
