Crosstalk troupe to open branch in Jinan
Deyun Society, a popular Chinese crosstalk troupe, is set to open a branch in Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, local media announced on April 23.
Crosstalk is a traditional Chinese comedy act and typically consists of a dialogue between two performers delivering in the form of rapid-fire banter, usually rich in puns and allusions.
Deyun Society, founded by Chinese crosstalk star Guo Degang in 1995, has made great efforts to promote the Chinese traditional art form at home and abroad.
The branch will offer tourists a taste of Chinese traditional talk show, enrich the local night life, and further promote tourism, noted Xiu Chunhai, Party secretary of Jinan Cultural and Tourism Development Group.
