Different from the Shandong exhibits, The Amazing Shanghai used a modern way to present cultures through four series of creative cultural products, a new form of souvenir combining cultural connotations.
Infused with unique Shanghai styles, the exhibition includes household decorative items such as pots, spoons and vases, toys and accessories.
"Being made into useful products, our products with artistic beauty are very popular among visitors," said Tang Shifen, director of the Administration Committee of Shanghai Museum.
One part of The Amazing Shanghai exhibition, about the fusion with Disney, also exhibited cloths and houseware products combining Micky Mouse and traditional Chinese cultural elements.
"It's impressive to see Disney in such a different approach and some styles are actually very popular in Belgium," said Leona Zuzanakova, whose two daughters were attracted by cultural products of Micky Mouse.
A special workshop of woodcuting was also available for visitors to make woodcut pictures of their own. "We also invited craftsman of woodcut to demonstrate the process," said Guo.
As regular visitor of China Cultural Center, Ghristella Gbaguidi appreciated the exhibition since it could introduce different cities in China to the rest of the world."We saw different cultures in China", Gbaguidi said.
The exhibition is part of a series of China Tourism and Culture Week events, a global project through which 34 overseas Chinese culture centers and 19 tourist offices host more than 200 cultural and tourism events in more than 40 countries from Wednesday to June 30.
