A symposium on Shandong's film and TV creation and industrial development was held in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on May 29.
Representatives from government departments, film and TV enterprises, and show business attended the symposium and shared insights on a series of issues, such as how to promote the creation of film and TV products, talent cultivation, industrial park construction, and resource integration.
Liu Jiayi, Party secretary of Shandong, said that Shandong is a populous province with competitive economic strengths and abundant cultural, marine, and tourism resources.
Liu said that the province has been promoting high-quality development and fostering new economic growth drivers, while the film and TV industry plays a vital role in boosting Shandong's cultural industry.
He expressed hope that the attendees would speak freely and give suggestions on the development of Shandong's film and TV industry.
Zhang Hongsen, vice-minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, said that Shandong has profound cultural resources and has created numerous high-quality TV dramas.
He hoped that Shandong film and TV practitioners will inherit the fine tradition of "Shandong TV drama," while keeping on creating and innovating to launch more excellent works, as well as promote industry development.
