'Dongying Day' celebrated at Beijing horticultural expo
Dongying, a powerhouse in East China's Shandong province, staged a Dongying Day event during the ongoing International Horticultural Exhibition in Beijing on June 21.
Showcasing the city's unique tourism resources, representative cultural legacies, and favorable investment environment, the event was designed to lure more visitors and investors to it, as well as raise the city's international profile.
The Beijing horticultural expo, themed "Live Green, Live Better," is the world's largest expo of its kind and opened to the public on April 29 in Yanqing district. It will last until Oct 7.
Dongying is located in the delta where the Yellow River, which is known as China's mother river, joins the sea. The city boasts the most complete, broadest, and youngest wetland ecosystem in the Yellow River Delta National Nature Reserve in China, which is acclaimed as "one of the most beautiful wetlands in China," covering an area of 1,530 square kilometers.

Dongying has built several major industrial clusters in the fields of petroleum chemicals, salt chemicals, and petroleum equipment, as well as for rubber tires, auto parts, and nonferrous metals.
