Linyi promotes consumption with book sales

The Xinhua Bookstore in Linyi, East China's Shandong province is celebrating the city's cultural consumption season with a series of activities including book sales, author lectures, music salons, and handicraft lessons.
Since summer sales began on Aug 18, special coupons worth nearly 200,000 yuan ($28,422) have been offered to locals, bringing in about 2.3 million yuan in total sales, up 20 percent year on year.
An average of 10,000 people per day have visited the store during the period, 2,000 more than the same period of last year.
As the only bookstore that has been classified as a 3A-level national tourist attraction, the Xinhua Book Store is committed to the preservation of traditional arts and skills.

The bookstore offers over 30 themed cultural experience activities including an intangible heritage exhibition and lessons for calligraphy and home economics, all of which are offering discounted tickets via online and offline channels.
Following Xinhua Bookstore's lead, Linyi enterprises had hosted a total of 23,446 consumption promotion activities by the end of October, attracting approximately 6.4 million participants and stimulating spending of 300 million yuan, according to the municipal bureau of culture and tourism.
