Textbook museum offers immersive experience

The Chinese Textbook Museum in Zibo, Shandong province, features the most diverse and complete textbook collection in Asia and offers an immersive experience for visitors.
Located at No 255 Zhongrun Road, the museum covers an area of 22,000 square meters and has over 30,000 textbooks on exhibit, some of which can be dated back to the Xia Dynasty (c. 21st century-16th century BC), the first central dynasty in recorded Chinese history.

The museum provides visitors with an immersive experience by reproducing typical classroom settings and other educational items stretching from 1775 to today.

The museum opened to the public in 2016 and participated in Shandong province's Third Cultural Consumption Season, offering classrooms for rent as well as discounted tickets and special coupons for books and stationary.
This year, 86 Shandong enterprises signed up for the consumption season which ran from July to October, 43 more than last year. The enterprises offered locals 8.38 million yuan ($1.19 million) worth of coupons. A total of 51.73 million yuan was spent at the event.
