Shandong artists support China's fight against the epidemic

Artists in East China's Shandong province have produced a series of imaginative paintings and touching songs to voice support for China's fight against the NCP, novel coronavirus pneumonia.
Cultural and tourism departments in Shandong as well as literary and artistic units are encouraging local artists to play their part in the fight against the epidemic by promoting knowledge of epidemic prevention and control.
In the coastal city of Yantai, the Yantai Academy of Painting and the Yantai Artists Association jointly issued an initiative to mobilize local artists to produce works on workers in the fight against the epidemic and popularize knowledge of epidemic prevention and control through various art forms, including Chinese painting, oil painting and caricature.
The Weifang bureau of culture and tourism has collected literary works, folk songs, paintings and operas that honor workers who have contributed to epidemic prevention and control, particularly front line medical workers.
The Zibo bureau of culture and tourism released a series of works depicting epidemic prevention and control efforts through video sharing platforms such as Douyin and Kuaishou, its official WeChat account and website, as well as social media platforms such as Sina Weibo.
The Jinan Artists Association and Dacheng Gallery of Jinan Urban Construction Group launched an online art exhibition focusing on the battle against the virus.
According to the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, to date, the province's artists have produced more than 4500 works focusing on the fight against the epidemic, including more than 1,000 songs and operas, nearly 3,000 art works, over 200 poetry recitations and over 300 photographs.
Local authorities said that all the works have been released online to express their solidarity with the country and confidence in winning the battle against the epidemic.
