Jinan offers 100-million-yuan fund to boost cultural, tourism industries
The Jinan government will establish a special fund worth 100 million yuan ($14.14 million) in a bid to support local cultural and tourism industries which have been greatly impacted by the epidemic.
To this end, the local government will promote short-distance travel, suburban tourism, and cultural activities.
“We are preparing for our fourth consumption season and plan to invest 20 million yuan to help boost culture and tourism consumption during the event,” said Zhi Liang, director of the Jinan municipal cultural and tourism bureau.
More measures will also be launched to help severely affected enterprises and upgrade cultural facilities, including lowering tax, waiving rent fees and reducing the price of water, electricity and gas heating.
The local government will also help scenic spots, museums, art galleries, and other places extend their evening hours in order to fuel the nighttime economy.
Online resources will also aid the development of local culture and tourism. The city will accelerate the integration of culture and technology and help visitors learn about Jinan through their smartphones.
