Pride Mega Yachts, a subsidiary of the State-owned China International Marine Containers Group and one of China’s leading yacht manufacturers, has announced the sale of its 88.8 meter super yacht, the largest ever built in China, but didn’t give any information on the buyer.
Work on the yacht, named the llusion, began in 2011. It has six decks and is more than 85 meters long, with a beam of 15.8 meters. It was sold on Aug 4, with the delivered date set in October 2015, the company said.
Its spacious design is complemented by the use of fine woods, rare stone, and special metal materials. The exterior was handled by the UK’s Rainsford Saunders Design and has been described as similar to a Rolls-Royce motor car, while the interior is the work of the Netherlands’ Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design. And it is propelled by two 3,000-hp Rolls Royce diesel-electric engines giving it a top speed of 14 to 17 knots and has a gross tonnage of more than 3600.
In commenting on the sale, the company said, “We can see the interest from potential buyers is on the rise, particularly for mega yachts. It’s a sign that the super yacht market is bouncing back.”
Illusion is the third super yacht the shipyard has built, and, according to the company, “This demonstrates that we are able to build high-level yachts that meet the high standards of this demanding market.”
Pride Mega Yachts is in the coastal city of Yantai, Shandong province, has more than 25 years of experience in ship and yacht building and specializes in the development and marketing of yachts that meet the growing demand for this type of boat.
