A number of tourist attractions in Yantai city of Shandong province have announced that they are not going to increase the ticket prices in recent time. This comes as a welcome move at a time when many scenic spots in the country have announced hike in their fare as the ban on tourist sites from increasing ticket prices within three years was lifted.

In 2007, the National Development and Reform Commission, China's top economic planner, issued a regulation, stipulating that scenic spots could adjust their ticket prices only once in three years.

Penglai Pavilion, one of China's top four famous pavilions, announced that its admission fee will remain 140 yuan ($21.96). In addition, in May this year, other eight tourist attractions, including Nanshan Park, Changdao Island and Chateau Junding, had promised that they will not increase ticket prices within three years.

Yantai, a coastal city in Shandong, now has three 5A-level tourist attractions and 17 4A-level scenic spots.
