Images of Yantai, a picture album themed on Yantai, a coastal gem set in northeastern Shandong province, was published recently to introduce the city's unique charm and enlarge its public profile and influence.

Orchestrated by the city's publicity department and jointly edited by the Yantai municipal government and the international communication office of the CPC Yantai Municipal Committee, the book contains five chapters, offering a full picture of Yantai with elegant presentation and an appeal to foreigners through Chinese-English bilingual text.

The public was invited by the editorial board at the preparatory stage to photograph the city with a theme of "discover the beauty of Yantai", and many shutterbugs responded. The final Images of Yantai includes 138 photos selected from nearly 5,000 submissions.
