The 2013 China Entrepreneurs Competition final – as part of the Shanghai Hi-Tech Expo – was held in the Automobile Conference Center of the city's Jiading district on August 30.
The event showcased many eye-catching innovations such as the "urban rail transit detecting system," a brainchild of finalist Chen Yan, that can automatically find existing and potential malfunctions and offer possible remedies. Another innovation is the "micro-wave drying system," which can be utilized in the farming industry and can, in the innovator's words, "save energy consumption and reduce pollution in the food-drying process."
The competition, which was initiated this April, attracted as many as 152 participants from around the world. Fifteen finalists survived several rounds of fierce contests and managed to display their work at the finals.
