The Jiading Industrial Zone, in the city of Shanghai, got a promotion recently to an industrialization demonstration base at the city level, from the city’s Economy and Information Technology Commission, along with 15 others.
The industrial zone has been changing itself over the past few years, focusing on automobiles and parts, major equipment manufacturing, new energy, e-commerce, culture creation, and other industries, and its economic indices showed a double-digit increases, in the first three quarters of this year, putting it at the top of the city’s zone ratings.
Autos and auto parts and top-level equipment were the major force, with output of its auto industry worth 24.22 billion yuan ($3.97 billion) in the first half, for a year-on-year growth of 14.2 percent, while emerging industry output was valued at 6.93-billion yuan, up 5.3 percent from last year’s same period.
The industrial zone also did a good job in attracting international brands such as Volvo, Continental Automotive Systems (Shanghai), and the ZF Group, and it has done its best to care for enterprises, with services, policies and favorable conditions, all of which could help it in its application for national status.
