A conference marking the establishment of a chamber of e-commerce was held in the Jiading district of Shanghai, on Nov 6, when directors of the board were elected and 62 enterprises, including 360buy and Gome Eshop, became the first batch of members.
The chamber of commerce is hoped to promote the industry to grow fast and soundly by pooling resources together.
It was announced at the conference that the chamber will make more connections with the local government, such as providing suggestions for policy-making.
It will also offer considerate services and favorable conditions for its members, by solving such problems as network security and logistics.
In addition, efforts will be made to improve the chamber itself to attract more and stronger members, in hopes of enhancing its influence and profits.
Lu Yiyi, member of Jiading’s standing committee, addressed the meeting while Sun Wei, Jiading’s deputy governor, inaugurated the chamber.
