TRW Automotive Holdings Corp, known as a global leader in automotive safety, has recently announced the opening of its largest ever technical center – a 66,000 square meter facility located in Anting, Jiading.
Gao Yun, director of Jiading district and John C. Plant, CEO of TRW, attended the opening ceremony.
Gao affirmed the remarkable achievements of TRW over the last 17 years of growth in Jiading and encouraged the enterprise to promote the Jiading automobile industry and to improve the safety of local vehicle products, which would achieve a win-win situation for both regional economic and corporate development.
The technical center, which has been designed and built to house more than 20 scientific testing labs – supporting all of the company's main business areas, including braking, steering and suspension, occupant safety and safety electronics – will employ more than 1,200 engineering, research and technical staff.
“This is a move which demonstrates our continued investment and commitment to supporting automotive manufacturers in bringing advanced vehicle safety systems to the Chinese market and the broader Asia Pacific region,” Plant explained to the reporter.
He said that TRW would continue to invest in such areas, which include Jiading, with the new Anting technical center being the company’s latest milestone for bringing automotive safety systems to the Chinese market, as well as providing local customers with direct access to technical and commercial services. ---end
