A launch ceremony for the 2014 Return of Jiading’s Young Talent was held in Jiading district of Shanghai on July 18. Zhou Jinlin, the district’s vice Party secretary, attended the ceremony.

More than 260 university students are part of this year’s project, including 137 students – all natives of Jiading – taking temporary posts in institutions and enterprises in Jiading, and 126 students from 10 “985 Project” (a government-run project for founding world-class universities in the country) universities across the country will take internships in local automobile, IT and Internet of Things industries.

Zhou Jinlin briefly talked about the district’s economic and social development and welcomed the students. He also praised the important role the project played in cultivating young talent.

The Return of Jiading’s Young Talent has become a brand project of the district’s Communist Youth League, with increasing influence since it started in 2007. By cooperating with the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission of Jiading, this year the project adopted an order-mode training to cultivate talent, according to companies’ requests.

In order to expand cooperation with colleges and universities and promote talent cultivation, Jiading also served as a social practice base for 12 universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiaotong University.
