Amazon Web Services Inc (AWS), a division of the e-commerce giant Amazon and one of the world’s largest cloud computing service providers, recently cooperated with Shanghai’s Jiading district to jointly build an incubator for start-up enterprises in the district’s industrial zone.
The incubator will provide support to Internet-integrated enterprises in the fields of cloud computing application, online games, Internet of Things and web-based consumption services.
The incubation will last six months to a year, with the projects selected and evaluated by AWS and the industrial zone.
According to AWS, start-up enterprises will enjoy the convenience of construction, extension and management of an IT platform with AWS’s services in computing, storage, database and analysis. They will be more focused on their core business and save time and costs on human resources.
Jiading Industrial Zone has become an Internet industrial base and has attracted a group of e-commerce and Internet financial enterprises such as Jingdong, Gome and Baidu. It has also introduced several venture investment funds after the incubator went into operation. The outstanding enterprises will have an opportunity to become a cooperation partner of AWS and promote business on a global platform.
