The storage base of Jingdong Group in Nanxiang of Shanghai’s Jiading district has switched to “busy mode” since Tuesday, Nov 11, which is a date popular for annual online shopping sprees. Trucks full of cargo have come in and out the base one after another. In addition, hundreds of workers are dealing with the orders day and night, according to a local newspaper on Nov 12.
As an e-commerce giant in the country, the group received a total of over 14 million orders on Nov 11, with 35,186,616 commodities sold through its shopping websites JD.com and Paipai.com. The group’s total order volume on “Double 11” this year is over two times last year.
