Shanghai's Tongji University and Shanghai Volkswagen (SVW) recently hosted a symposium to tap the university-enterprise cooperation model at Tongji's School of Automotive Studies in Jiading district.
Seeking to promote a cooperation and exchange platform between the two parties, the symposium has been consecutively hosted for three years since 2012. Since 2013, SVW has proposed a concept project every semester implemented by the university. The two parties have also worked on research subjects featuring a power assembly and brake system.
The two parties started cooperation in personnel training and research early in 2007, implementing a joint engineer cultivation program and building a site for national engineering practice.
So far, a total of 22 SVW engineers have been employed by the university to give lessons, and over 100 students from Tongji have worked in the auto company.
