China Music Industry Park signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Shanghai's Jiading town on Nov 28 to open a branch in the town next year. It will attract a group of music studios, production centers, digital music platforms and experience centers to settle in the area.
China Music Industry Park, initiated by the State Administration of Press and Publication in 2009, aims to encourage industrial clustering and promote industrial development. The park settled in Hongkou district, Shanghai, attracting a string of music industry companies such as Shanghai Audio-Visual Press and Shanghai Epic Music.
However, the park in Hongkou is limited in space and cannot hold more companies, said Fan Zhu, deputy director of the town. In order to sustain its development, the park chose Jiading for its new base. Fan believed the base can introduce more high-quality industrial and cultural projects to the district and promote cultural exchange.
