The Shanghai Post Bureau issued its first Lunar New Year express cover featuring the Year of Goat on Feb 14.
The festival cover is a commemorative envelope printed with festive postmarks. It was designed by Wu Guanying, an experienced stamp designer, and has two cartoon figures of goat on it. It also involves traditional Chinese elements of guardian lions, Spring Festival scrolls and paper-cuts.
A total of 50,000 copies were issued at the price of seven yuan ($1.12) each. By scanning the QR code on its back, residents can have access to a video of the cartoon figures.
The express service means residents can have a next day delivery guarantee for their letters or packages posted within the city. It will be prepaid by the volume rather than the weight of the package. Residents can choose the service at post offices, news stalls or e-service mailboxes across the city.
