An art exhibition kicked off at Jiangqiao town of Shanghai's Jiading district on August 25 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of China's victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the end of World War II.

The exhibition will run until September 30. This month-long exhibition features a collection of 70 selected calligraphy works and paintings from famous artists and is attracting many local residents.
With the aim of reminding people of the lessons of history, the importance of patriotism and the hard-earned peace, the exhibition showcases China's history of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression as well as its pursuit of peace.
