A chrysanthemum show kicked off at the Huilongtan Park in Jiading district, Shanghai, on Oct 28. The more than a month long event will run until Nov 30, informed an official.

The show was an annual event between 1988 and 1997. During the decade, it displayed more than 600,000 pots of chrysanthemum and attracted over 1.5 million Chinese and foreign visitors.
Being cancelled for 18 years, it returned this year, which has excited local residents. An art show by local people was organized to celebrate the inauguration of the chrysanthemum exhibition. It attracted thousands of visitors.

According to the organizers, a total of 100,000 pots of chrysanthemum, over 400 varieties, were on display this year. The chrysanthemums were arranged into different images to make them look more attractive.
The organizers explained that the chrysanthemum show contained some beautiful memories of Jiading people. Holding the event again aimed to remind them of their old memories as well as introduce the district's tourism resources to more people and promote the further development of its tourism sector.
