The park has done greening work quite well, with its greening rate reaching 70 percent. It looks like a green corridor along the Hengli River and is regarded as a "green lung" of the district.

The official explained that the park is intended to arouse local residents' interests in sports and is designed to meet the needs of people of all ages.

When the park is completed, it is expected to be the first choice of local residents to do exercise, said the officials.

It will be opened to local residents for free, while its basketball, football and gateball courts will charge some extra fees, added the official.
