The focus of Jiading district of Shanghai is on the construction of parks in the past few years, because it wants to realize the goal of having 100 parks, local media reported on March 15.

During the three years from 2013 to 2015, the district established 14 new parks including the Pantuozi Park, Yinxiang Lake Park and Ziteng Park, which made the total park number reach 73.
At present, nine parks, featuring the Jiading Country Park and Xuhang Park, are under construction.
And other six parks, such the Nanxiang Sewage Plant Park and Beishuiguan Historical Park, are in the planning stage and expected to open to the public in the next five years.
At that time, the number will amount to 88, still 12 parks less than its goal of 100. Therefore, local authorities vowed that they will continue to establish more new parks.

Jiading's parks have different characteristics and functions. For instance, the Beishuiwan Sports Park in its Juyuan New Area houses various sports facilities and aims to offer local residents a place to do exercise and keep healthy. And the Ziteng Park has beautiful flowers, such as Chinese wisteria and sakura, as its highlights.
