Residents in Anting town, Jiading district of Shanghai, will have a better place to do exercise, as construction of a sports-themed park has begun in the town recently, local media reported on May 3.
The park covers a total area of 120,000 square meters and is designed by the Shanghai-based Vanke Co, China's leading real estate company.
The project will be carried out in three stages. The first stage project covers a football court and a ring-shaped track for jogging, which is expected to be completed by the end of May.
The jogging track will also be designed to connect to local Auto Expo Park and roads for walking and cycling, to improve its utility.
More sports training courts will be built in the second and third stage projects, to cater to local people who have diverse needs.
The project also focuses on greening work by planting a variety of vegetation, creating a more comfortable and beautiful environment.
