The Shanghai International Automobile City in Jiading district struck a trio of deals with the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center (NETC), Tsinghua University, and Shanghai Motor Vehicle Inspection Center (NMVIC) on May 11, local media reported.
According to the deals, the auto city plans to work with the NETC to build a smart vehicle technology transfer center, serving as a platform for a local smart-connected vehicle demonstration area. The center is also expected to provide technology, employment, capital, and other resources for the auto sector.
Its cooperation with Tsinghua University focuses on establishing a joint auto industrial technology research center. They will also work together on smart-connected vehicles, intelligent transportation, talent training and business incubation.
In addition, the auto city will work on setting standards for smart-connected vehicles and building an information security laboratory and smart-connected vehicle testing sites.
