LeSEE, the supercar division of a Chinese Internet company LeEco Holdings Ltd, reached a deal with the Shanghai International Automobile City in Jiading district on May 15, to set up its supercar R&D center in the auto city's Innovation Park.
LeSEE focuses on developing all-electronic battery concept car with extensive novel functions, including self-driving, facial recognition, emotion recognition, environment recognition and road recognition.
This new move made it have two supercar R&D centers in Beijing and Shanghai. The Beijing center is mainly in charge of vehicle integration and testing, while the Shanghai center will focus on R&D of vehicle control, battery and electric drive system.

Xu also mentioned that this cooperation is in line with the auto city's goal of promoting the development of Internet connected automobiles.
The Auto Innovation Park that started operation last October now houses dozens of leading emerging enterprises in auto industry such as a startup firm NextEV, a joint venture between SAIC Motor and Alibaba, and Auto Space.
