In order to promote Jiading's economic and social development and improve the livelihoods of local citizens, the government has pledged to continue to focus on a batch of projects designed to do just that in 2016.
The projects are as follows:
1. Add 26,000 jobs; restrict total unemployment to within 7,000; give professional skill training to 12,000 people.
2. Add an extra 499 beds in local elderly care institutions; build or renovate 10 entertainment venues for elderly people; launch the pilot project of intelligent robot cloud service systems in 12 community affairs service center.
3. Continue insurance projects related to local people's livelihoods.
4. Build 16 footpaths for people to take part in exercise and one community public sports ground; complete the third stage of construction of Cultural Jiading, a public cultural digital service platform.
5. Launch free health examinations for the elderly aged 65 or above; launch free pap smears and breast cancer screenings for 30,000 retired or low-income women; provide free fluoride coatings for infants teeth for 10,000; organize 10,000 residents to attend health self-management groups.
6. Build 20 youth innovation laboratories and four youth public security education sites.
7. Build or renovate 100 bus stops.
8. Offer rent subsidies to 650 low-income households; complete the renovation of 230,000 square meters of old residential areas and buildings.
9. Carry out project to enable disabled people to take buses for free; complete the household accessibility renovation for 120 rural and impoverished disabled families.
10. Conduct safety engineering projects; allocate 30,000 firefighting blankets to residents living in old residential areas where firefighting facilities are not fully-equipped; complete the renovation of 18 old residential areas to improve safety.
11. Launch online video supervision and monitoring of food security of 150 key companies.
