More than 10,000 runners took to the start line at Shanghai International Circuit in Jiading district on Jan 1, to start the New Year off on the right foot and get healthy.
The annual event, which started in 2015, aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage more people to be involved in sports.

Different from the previous two years, this year's race had pace runners who helped middle and long distance runners improve their times.
The event included a race for visually impaired runners accompanied by volunteers to ensure safety.

A charity drive took place alongside the race, with many runners donating winter clothes in aid of poor families in Majiang county, Guizhou province.
Runners were also encouraged to donate their running steps. For every 5,000 steps each runner took, FAW-Volkswagen Audi, sponsor of the event, donated 2 yuan to the Ai You Foundation, to pay for the treatment and care of orphans.
