Antsoo, a newly developed website which uses big data technology to help auto manufacturers and auto parts companies find appropriate polymer materials, has officially launched, according to local media reported on Mar 8.
The website was developed by Shanghai Data Bank Co., which moved to the Shanghai International Automobile City located in the city's Anting town three months ago. Antsoo is the first database website of its kind in China.
The website was developed based on the promising prospect of polymer materials including plastics, rubber, coating materials, fibers and adhesives, which are necessary materials used for auto manufacturing. The output value of auto-used polymer materials amounted to nearly 2 trillion yuan ($29 billion) and is predicted to rise to 2.5 trillion yuan within five years.
The website consists of three data bases concerning characteristics of materials, usage of materials, and material providers respectively. For example, users who type an index of the physical properties of the material they need will immediately get a list of matched materials, which is extremely convenient and time-saving.
The website serves as a bridge linking auto companies and auto-used material providers, making it easier for auto companies to find good and cheap raw materials and for material providers to get clients. Now, it has collected 300,000 data with regard to material characteristics, and 110,000 material providers.
In 2017, it has made several goals, including seeking cooperation with six auto manufacturers and 50 auto parts companies in East China and North China areas, bringing in 15,000 more companies, and getting 50,000 users. It will also launch the mobile application of Antsoo in May.
