The construction of a CAS-backed middle school, located in Juyuan New Area, Jiading district of Shanghai got underway, local media reported on June 12.
The middle school, covering an overall floor area of 17,170 square meters, began construction on Jan 24 this year and is expected to complete construction by June 2018. According to the design plan, the middle school consists of four buildings, including two teaching buildings, and one incorporating a dining hall, kitchens and an indoor playground. An additional building will house reading rooms, multifunctional classrooms, and administrative offices.
Currently, the two teaching buildings are nearing completion, and the remaining two buildings are expected to finish main structure construction in July.
The middle school is part of a CAS-backed experimental school project, which also include a primary school.
