The auto industry exclusive 2017 Technology Innovation Training Camp took place in Waigang town, Shanghai's Jiading district on June 28-29.
Nearly 150 sci-tech startup talents in the auto industry and representatives of over 40 startup projects involving new energy, intelligent network and automotive market attended the two-day event.
The training camp, a joint effort between Science and Technology Talents Center and scientific administrative departments of Shanghai, Zhejiang, Shandong, Hubei, and Chongqing, is designed to be a non-profit platform to nurture sci-tech startup talents.
Guo Haitao, partner of Yee Qun Holding Group, and Liu Yi, associate researcher of the China Auto Talents Society, gave lectures on financing and corporate development during the camp.
They analyzed the development trend and auto industry opportunities and shared their insights into emerging industries and talent development.
In addition to training lectures, one-on-one tutoring for participating startup projects was also available. Only the top eight projects were allowed to attend the roadshow and matchmaking event with investment institutions.
Awards were also given to outstanding projects. An intelligent automobile communication control system and its chip development project won the Best Investment Value Award.
An automobile intelligent driving assistance system and millimeter-wave radar industrialization project was granted the Best Growth Potential Award, while a high-energy magnetic manufacturing technology and high-end equipment project received the Best Innovative Project Award.
The training camp that started in 2013 has been held 23 times and serves as a bridge between sci-tech startup projects and investment institutions. Its launch in Waigang was based on concern for the town's industrial development.
Thanks to the greater role of its industries following Jiading's economic growth in recent years, Waigang town now forms an important part of Jiading's goal of becoming a key area of Shanghai's scientific and technological innovation center construction.
