Shanghai's Jiading Museum started a training course on traditional Chinese dance on July 19, to garner interest in the art form among kids.
A dance instructor from the Shanghai Hanweiyang Traditional Culture Promotion Center was invited to tutor in the six-week long course. .
To begin with, the instructor taught the kids separate dance moves and went on to correct them individually.
After two hours of learning, the kids could do the movements coherently and were able to perform a short dance.
Traditional Chinese dance is known for its beauty, charm and long history. It is an invaluable cultural heritage.
The training course initiated by the Jiading Museum is expected to help local children gain a better understanding of this cultural heritage and get more people to fall in love with traditional Chinese dance.
