Jiading district's first tech start-up building is about to open its doors, local media reported on Aug 17.
The Jiading Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building is expected to provide a boost for start-ups based in the district in northwest Shanghai.
The five-storey building will provide new tech businesses with a wide range of different facilities and services.
An administrative service area on the first floor will helping start-ups deal with issues related to industrial policies, staff incentives and services, attracting investment, and financial technology.
Legal consulting, human resources and intellectual property rights institutions will also move into the first floor to serve the start-ups. More than 30 services companies have already confirmed they will set up offices in the building.
There are expected to be as many as 1,200 technology professionals and management and service personnel based on the first floor.
The second and third floors will house an exhibition center that will be used as a venue for holding launch events for new products, exhibitions, conventions, testing, and other activities.
There will also be a big data center in the exhibition center, which will use multimedia technology to showcase Jiading's technological development.
A technology exhibition area on the same floor will allow visitors to experience the latest technologies, such as 3-D printing, augmented reality and virtual reality.
The building shall provide a large amount of office space, as well as an innovation and entrepreneurship college offering tuition from more than 600 mentors specializing in a variety of fields.
The building operator also plans to establish an innovation and entrepreneurship incubation area and an angel investor area to help start-ups raise funds more easily.
