Jiading to host world's largest gathering of circus clowns

( chinadaily.com.cn ) 2017-09-22

If you see dozens of clowns wandering around Shanghai's Jiading district this weekend, don't be alarmed. They are likely in town to attend the AEMI World Clown Festival 2017.

Dozens of top-class clowns from the United States, France, the UK, and other countries will be piling out of tiny cars in Jiading on Sept 23-24.

The artists include performers from the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, NINO, a famous Argentine comic star, Greg Desanto, a professional circus clown, the Blue Brothers from New York, and many others.

They'll be entertaining the crowd with a range of acts, from juggling, stilt walking and comedy, to magic shows, soap bubble and balloon shows.

The AEMI World Clown Festival is the world's largest of its kind and involves more than 500 clowns, with the simple purpose of bringing joy to families from around the globe.
