Fifty tech researchers from across the Yangtze River Delta region got the chance to learn from some of Europe's top technology transfer experts at a special training camp in Juyuan New District in Shanghai's Jiading district on Sept 22-23.
The camp, titled "Technology Opportunity Analysis and Transfer", was organized by the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center, Shanghai Industry Technology Innovation and Incubation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the management committee of Juyuan New District.
It was designed to help cultivate a cohort of elite talents in Shanghai who can accelerate the transfer of new technologies to industry and the mass market.
The classes were taught by a group of leading experts from Europe, whose specialties included intellectual property, technology transfer, technology innovation policy and data analysis.
They lectured on a range of subjects, such as the application of data analysis in technology transfer, technology monitoring during transfer, social networking and discovering new opportunities, intellectual property strategies in technology transfer in American industry, and cultivating talents in technology transfer.
Besides listening to the lectures from the experts, trainees also shared the cases they have handled concerning intellectual property, technology transfer, technology innovation policy and data analysis.
Several attendees affirmed that the camp had been useful in helping them grasp how to discover new opportunities in technological research and transfer them into products and solutions to benefit wider society.
The seminar is just the latest initiative launched to stimulate innovation in Juyuan. In September, the National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center was established in the area, which is designed to become a global center for R&D and to pioneer strategies for using intellectual property to optimize the development of the technology services industry in China.
