The fruit market, covering 300 mu (15 hectares), will use advantages from Jiading's largest fruit brand "Xiang Ba Lao" and develop into a multifunctional market incorporating fruit picking, farm for parent-children activities, a performance stage, a Xi opera museum, and a fruit-featured regimen.
The three supporting facilities include a home stay hotel, touring boats, and a local restaurant.
Fu Jun, deputy head of Jiading, said at the symposium that the district has built 22 spots for leisure agriculture and plans to build seven rural tourism attractions for particular themes in hope of having leisure agriculture brands that are influential in Shanghai and even in the Yangtze River Delta regions.
Many prestigious experts such as Chen Guoquan, professor at New Village Development Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Sun Xuefei, associate professor at Shanghai Business School, discussed the development of leisure agriculture and rural tourism in Jiading.
Also during the symposium, a lot of cooperation deals were signed to help Huating's rural tourism complex project proceed well.
