The Meichen Shopping Mall in Jiading district, Shanghai, is set to reopen in the second half of 2018, after its renovation in 2017 and the half-year trail operation at the beginning of the year.
The renovated shopping mall, covering a combined floor area of about 44,000 square meters, has been developed in mind with it becoming the go-to place for buying flowers in Shanghai.
It has the capacity to accommodate more than 1,800 commercial tenants, with over 300 commercial tenants having settled in the mall to date, which has brought together tens of thousands of kinds of flowers, green plants, artificial flowers, and aquarium fish.
According to the manager of Shanghai Jiayi Flower Market Operation Management Co Ltd, which is in charge of the running of the shopping mall, the success of the half-year trail operation has made the mall the largest and the most complete seller of flowers in Shanghai.
The mall was formerly known as Shanghai International Shoe City when it originally opened in 2005. In the future, it will also develop a new business model integrating education, entertainment, shopping, conferences and exhibitions.
