Asia's first Porsche Experience Center opens in Jiading

The first Porsche Experience Center (PEC) in Asia, first launched in April this year, opened for the public for reservations recently in Jiading district, Shanghai, with the aim of improving the public's driving knowledge and skills.

Covering an area of 100,000 square meters and with an investment of 200 million yuan ($28.99 million), the PEC, located adjacent to the Shanghai International Circuit, is the sixth Porsche experience center in the world. The other five are respectively situated in Atlanta and Los Angeles of the United States, Leipzig of Germany, Silverstone of Britain, and Le Mans of France.

Inside the PEC Shanghai building, there is an exhibition area displaying Porsche cars, a motorsport simulation game area, conference rooms, a restaurant, and a cinema.

A 1.4-kilometer-long test track, an off-road experience track with an area of 8,000 sq m, a low-friction circuit, a multi-function area covering 7,500 sq m, and a simulated icy track, the first of its kind in China, are located outside the building.

Price: Taking Porsche 911 as an example, the price for a 1.5-hour tour in PEC is 3,500 yuan while that for a half-day tour is 8,880 yuan.
