A special concert for the Shanghai alumni of global universities took place in Jiading district on Dec 1, with the aim of promoting cooperation between Jiading and the Alliance of Shanghai Alumni Associations of Global Universities.
A dozen performances were given by representatives of the alumni and local artists.
Moreover, the Alliance of Shanghai Alumni Associations of Global Universities Jiading Industrial Development and Cooperation Center was inaugurated during the concert.
This center will work as a comprehensive service platform for alumni who want to invest in Jiading.
"We hope to build a strong tie with the alliance to attract more young talented personnel from all over the world to come to Jiading, to love Jiading, and to serve Jiading," said a local official.
An office for presidents of youth entrepreneurs associations in the Yangtze River Delta region was also unveiled in the hope of taking advantage of the young entrepreneurs' expertise and to help Jiading attract investment.
Some leaders of the alliance also visited Jiading's innovation and entrepreneurship building, and discussed with local officials about the district's industrial development.
Qiu Jiliang, president of this alliance spoke highly of Jiading's innovation and entrepreneurship, and expected further cooperation and investment.
The Alliance of Shanghai Alumni Associations of Global Universities is a non-profit social organization founded by the Shanghai alumni associations of universities at home and abroad which include Imperial College London in Britain, University of North Carolina in the United States, Peking University in China, and others.
