Scientific research and higher learning institutions around Jiading have helped the district become more appealing to high-tech enterprises.

Makepower, a high-tech enterprise focusing on the development and application of computer software, the internet and internet of things (IoT) technology, was the latest to join the innovation park established by Wenzhou in Jiading and has benefited from its talent advantages.

It took the company only two months to put the research and development (R&D) branch in Jiading into operation, and one of their clients, China Tower, was only a few steps away.

According to Cao Xing, director of the R&D center, they have employed more than 20 research members, who were busy working on the intelligent progress of Jiading.

"We hoped to bring our intelligent manhole cover system to the Shanghai market,” Cao said. "It has claimed the honors of Best Innovative Product and Best Application Solution in the Chinese IoT industry.

"We are in need of talents and we must go ahead with talents," Cao said, adding that the output value of Makepower was about 500 million yuan ($71.44 million) and is expected to reach 5 billion yuan in the future.

"That's why we chose Jiading, which is neighbored by prestigious schools such as Tongji University and Shanghai University, and will be sure to continue to bring us all kinds of talents," Cao said.
