A total of 98 projects worth 34 billion yuan ($4.9 billion) in investment were signed in Jiading, Shanghai on Jan 4, reflecting Jiading's recent efforts to optimize its business environment.
Ten of the projects have attracted investment of over 1 billion yuan, while another 49 received investments of over 100 million yuan each. They are expected to reach an output value of 74 billion yuan in total.
The projects mainly cover emerging industries such as integrated circuits (IC), internet of things (IoT), new energy and smart vehicles, high performance medical equipment, precision medicine, intelligent manufacturing, and robotics.
The industries are in line with Jiading's development plan in the new era and the companies included are leaders in their respective fields.
At present, Jiading is striving to build a globally competitive auto industry and accelerate its efforts to become a world-class auto industrial center.
The district is also looking to boost the output value of its IC and IoT industries to over 100 billion yuan. To achieve this goal, it is planning to build an intelligent sensor industrial park and double down efforts to develop major innovative projects, such as the National Intelligent Sensor Innovation Center. It will accelerate the construction of an intelligent science and innovation town and an ICLinked industrial park. By 2025, Jiading is expected to become the sensor and intelligent hardware industry center of Shanghai, the Yangtze River Delta region and even the entire country.
