Officials in Jiading district in Shanghai are striving to become internet influencers in order to boost vehicle sales and stimulate domestic demand, according to a local news report on May 30.

The livestreaming activity is part of the 2020 Jiading Shopping Festival, which aims to explore consumption potential more efficiently.

Since the COVID-19 epidemic began, the local government has offered substantial support to boost consumption and get life and business back to normal, which has greatly helped boost market confidence and promote economic development.

According to organizers, the activity was not only a great way to expand the influence of Jiading brands, but encouraged enterprises to offer high-level products and services.

Shen Huadi, deputy director of Jiading district, participated in the livestream and introduced viewers to the driverless technology developed by autonomous driving startup AutoX.

Shen spoke highly of the technology and said that it will be widely used in more areas in the future.

In recent years, Jiading has been working to become a world-class automobile industry center, and further advanced the "integration of industry and city" development pattern. It is expected to grow into an innovative highland for the automobile industry with distinctive characteristics.

Currently, the district is home to more than 300 vehicle manufacturing and auto parts enterprises, as well as over 100 research and development centers for vehicle development.

From May to June, Jiading district held a series of broadcasting activities, and a special activity will be held to promote local agricultural products online, aiming to boost consumer confidence and stimulate consumption.
