Jiading district in Shanghai and the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement on Aug 12 to establish an industrial ecosphere for intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs), according to officials at a signing ceremony held in Jiading.
Both sides also agreed to further promote the high-quality development of the automobile industry.
In recent years, Jiading has been working to become a world-class automobile industry center and set up an ecological chain for ICV enterprises, aiming to become a gathering place for leading global automobile enterprises.
Lu Fangzhou, Party secretary of Jiading, said at the signing ceremony that CAAM is the most influential association in the country's automobile industry and Jiading has the most competitive advantages in the automobile sector across the country. Both sides will seize the opportunities brought by the upgrading and transformation of the automobile industry to construct a robust industry ecosystem with global competitiveness.
Fu Bingfeng, executive vice-chairman and secretary general of CAAM, noted that Jiading is home to the country's largest auto city, as well as that new energy vehicles and automobile intelligence are two of the district's emerging industries. Due to these competitive advantages, Jiading will play a leading role in the high-quality development of the country's automobile industry.
According to the cooperation agreement, Jiading and CAAM will speed up the construction of an industrial cluster for the automobile industry in the district. Cutting-edge technologies will be boosted to facilitate the intelligent upgrading of the country's automobile sector.
Both sides will also team up to cultivate more high-level talents and accelerate the use of big data to further promote information sharing.
