15 major projects launched in Jiading New City

Fifteen major projects, with an investment of more than 10 billion yuan ($155.2 million), involving high-end industries, scientific and technological innovation, infrastructure, as well as major areas of public welfare, were launched in Jiading New City on Jan 6.

Covering an area of 166 square kilometers, Jiading New City introduced six industrial projects, including the Jiading New Town Headquarters Park project, the Shanghai APACTRON Particle Equipment Company headquarters project, and the Shanghai Emperor of Cleaning Hi-Tech Company headquarters park project.

The "One Ring Road and Three Roads" smart transportation project and landscape improvement project were also lunched, including the construction project of the driverless ring road along Yuangxiang Lake, the renovation project of Baiyin Road, the phase I project of Yumin South Road, and the smart vehicle project of the Huyi Expressway, which runs from Chenxiang Road to Yecheng Road. In addition, the driverless ring road will be established as the first commercial demonstration driverless road.

Lu Fangzhou, the secretary of the Jiading District Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that the construction of major projects should be emphasized first to promote the high-quality integration of industries and the city, enhance the humanistic education level, beautify the ecological landscape, as well as to build a smart city.
