Malu grapes enter picking season

Malu grapes are now available for picking until the National Day holiday, according to the Malu Grape Theme Park in Jiading district.

The first batch of tourists arrived at the park on June 5 to pick the seasonal grapes, which are also known as "Shaoxing No 1" and "Xuwang No 4".

"Shaoxing No 1" grapes are dark purple and have the fragrance of a rose. Its yield in the park is expected to increase by 3,000 grams from the previous year, according to the park.

One family from Baoshan district said that they decided to pick the grapes as they wanted their children to learn how the fruit is grown.

Another tourist praised the sweetness and fragrance of the "Xuwang No 4" grapes.

To provide tourists with a better experience this year, the park has designated picking sites alongside the main path, as well as implemented measures to ensure that the grapes ripen consistently during this period for picking and selling.

More types of grapes in the park will be available for picking soon.
